From crunching through the icy glaciers of Mt. Rainier to bowhunting turkey in the big-sage-drenched Intermountain West, I’ve carved out a woodsy lifestyle that is all about getting outside. There’s only one thing I love more than living it—writing about it!

I’m Shawn—outdoor writer and professional copywriter. I was once a wildlife field biologist for federal, state, and private sectors. In fact, the University of Washington even gave me a fancy piece of paper that says I’m pretty good at it.

Currently, I work on a creative team as a copywriter for the leading retail and e-commerce accelerator, Netrush. Along with delivering top-shelf copy to our partner brands in the Sports & Outdoors and Health & Wellness spaces, I craft on-brand and on-point copy for the shooting & hunting industries.

Discovering writing in my teens, I aspired to lofty Stephen King heights with my crappy fictional short stories. They were awful! Later, I moved on to creating content, website copy, advertisements, and print copy for local artists in the music industry. Ahh, the young digital marketing of the early 2000s.

Not happy unless I’m juggling 20 things at once, I was marketing local artists, working at REI, and working seasonally as a wildlife bio-technician. All this while working on my degree in wildlife biology. Whew!

Since the days of creating press kits, hooting for owls, and diving off ATVs to catch sage grouse, I’ve entered a new chapter. I look forward to bringing you concise and compelling copy that captures the imagination and converts curious browsers into paying customers.
